SOFTWARE SCARES CATS OFF KEYBOARDS

TUCSON, Ariz. (Wireless Flash) -- A Tucson man has invented a computer program that "catproofs" your computer to keep felines from frolicking on your keyboard. The so-called "PawSense" program can actually tell when a cat is walking on your keyboard. It then responds with a pop-up message that reads "Cat-Like Typing Detected" -- usually within one or two "pawstrokes." Inventor Chris Niswander says his program also emits a loud and shrill falsetto noise to scare the cat off the computer. Niswander says he was inspired to create PawSense after his sister's cat crashed her computer with a few careless steps on the keyboard. The $20 program is available at the BitBoost.com website.
