SHUTTERBUG EXPOSES SECRETS OF OLD HOLLYWOOD

ENCINO, Calif. (Wireless Flash) -- A veteran Hollywood shutterbug is exposing the secrets of many of the old-time stars he photographed. 74-year-old Murray Garrett started snapping celebrities when he was just 17, and is revealing his escapades in a new book, "Hollywood Candid: A Photographer Remembers" (Abrams). He claims Milton Berle was a miserable subject who tossed him out on his rear after he asked him to pose for a quick photograph. It seems Jerry Lewis was a difficult pest who liked smearing butter on the camera lens, while Jimmy Durante was a real pussycat who loved being photographed -- but who also had the strange habit of carrying around a suitcase filled with $100,000. Finally, Garrett says Red Skelton suffered from a bizarre sort-of reverse stage fright: The comic always threw up after each performance.
