WORLD'S LARGEST MUSICAL INSTRUMENT GOES ON TOUR

CINCINNATI, Ohio (Wireless Flash) -- The ears of the world will be tuned to Cincinnati today when the world's largest stringed instrument starts a nationwide tour. The instrument -- called an "Earth Harp" -- consists of a series of 700-foot-long metal strings that are attached to skyscrapers. When the strings are stroked by musicians wearing rosin- covered gloves, it sounds similar to a gigantic cello. Earth Harp inventor Bill Close says the instrument is versatile enough to play everything from "Bolero" to Led Zeppelin's "Kashmir." Close says his dream is to attach to the Earth Harp to the Eiffel Tower, which has a curved shape similar to a stand-up bass. The giant harp is touring the U.S. as part of the Folgers Cafe Latte Music Box Tour, and will be attached to skyscrapers in 20 other cities, including the CNN Building in Atlanta.
