BREAK OUT YOUR HEADBAND FOR PAT BENATAR

BREAK OUT YOUR HEADBAND FOR PAT BENATAR

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- Forget "Beatlemania!" On Wednesday (Oct. 18), New Yorkers will be breaking out their headbands and leather mini-skirts for the first ever Pat Benatar tribute. Dozens of performers will be belting out Benatar hits -- including one drag queen who's dressing up in a straitjacket and high heels to sing Benatar's tune "Anxiety (Get Nervous)." A goth cello group called Rasputina will perform a version of "Fire & Ice," and an all-male dance troupe called the Dazzle Dancers will recreate the famous over-the-top dance hall scene from Benatar's "Love Is A Battlefield" video. Tribute organizer Cathy Cervenka says she planned the show because she thinks Benatar is often overlooked as a rock role model.
