BULGARIAN STUDENTS PLAGUED BY BAD CAFETERIA FOOD

BLAGOEVGRAD, Bulgaria (Wireless Flash) -- Students at the American University in Bulgaria have had a gut-wrenching time over the past few months -- and it's not because they're studying too hard. In the past 90 days, the student body has been plagued by a series of slip-ups in the campus cafeteria -- starting with a mouse tail that was found in a piece of bread. Then, last month, a 23-year-old freshman from Kosovo found what appeared to be a large fingernail in his carrot salad -- but cafeteria officials claimed it was a piece of plastic from the carrot grater. The food fiasco came to a head last week when 15 students were sent to the student health center suffering from food poisoning caused by bad eggs in a creamy dessert. It remains to be seen what culinary misfortune will fall upon the students next, but the consensus among students is that there's nothing they can do about the belly-busting Bulgarian food.
