FENG SHUI PREVENTS FIGHTS AT HOLIDAY DINNERS

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- If your holiday dinners end in fist fights, you may want to change how you set your table. According to London-based new age journalist Jane Alexander, certain colors of tablecloths and napkins can affect the way your guests get along. For instance, gold, beige or brown tablecloths help get shy folks to speak up while mellowing out loudmouths. Pink cloths help people who don't know each other be more friendly. Green and blue-colored tablecloths or napkins reduce appetites, leaving you with plenty of leftovers, while reds and oranges stimulate the appetite. Finally, if your family's bad behavior puts "The Simpsons" to shame, Alexander suggests a gentle flower arrangement in a clear glass bowl will reduce family fisticuffs to a bare minimum. Alexander discusses the feng shui of family dinners in the new book, "Sacred Rituals At Home" (Sterling).
