COFFINS DOUBLE AS COFFEE TABLES

COFFINS DOUBLE AS COFFEE TABLES

MURRAY, Ky. (Wireless Flash) -- A coffin-maker who designs custom caskets has found many of his clients prefer to use their coffins as coffee tables before they kick the bucket. Kentucky woodworker Roy Davis -- who runs Bert & Bud's Vintage Coffins -- makes caskets for folks who are still alive, but want something a little different for their final resting spot. One woman asked for a casket shaped like a dollhouse, complete with a tiled "roof" and cut-outs of shrubbery. Davis says most of his clients have several years to go before they need their coffins, so they've come up with alternative uses such as coffee tables or storage chests. One of his customers, a thirtysomething Microsoft executive, stores his coffin in his wine cellar -- complete with a wax dummy lying in it. You can see the custom caskets at VintageCoffins.com
