AEROSOL SPRAY ALLOWS COVERT MAIL-SNOOPING

BETHESDA, Md. (Wireless Flash) -- Here's a reason to be careful about what you send through the mail -- a new aerosol spray allows cops to peek into unopened envelopes. The so-called "See-Through" spray makes any color envelope translucent so the contents can be read just like a postcard. Even sneakier, the peek-a-boo effect only lasts for 30- 60 seconds, so there's no way of knowing your mail has been snooped into. A spokesman for Mistral Security, which makes the See- Through spray, says the spray was developed for detecting mail bombs -- but has thousands of other uses. The company only sells the stuff to law enforcement at this point -- but is looking into the legality of selling it to civilians who want to see if their spouse is having an affair or snoop on their kids.
