L.A. ARTIST HIDES DIARY ENTRIES UNDER PAINTINGS

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) -- Most people keep their diaries under lock and key, but one Los Angeles artist keeps his underneath his paintings. Steve McElroy -- whose paintings are owned by famous folks like Madonna and Rosie O'Donnell -- writes his diary entries on his canvases before painting them. That means the only way you can see the words is by putting the painting under an X-ray machine. McElroy says he was inspired to record his innermost thoughts on his canvases because people always wonder what's on an artist's mind when they're creating a work of art. However, his thoughts aren't always about the art: McElroy admits the painting he produced for Rosie contains some tart-tongued comments about how bossy the talk show host was to him.
