GLORIA GAYNOR: THE FRENCH LOVE HER

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) -- "I Will Survive" singer Gloria Gaynor has something in common with Jerry Lewis -- the French love her. It all started in 1998 when the French soccer team adopted her disco anthem while they were underdogs to win the World Cup. The team rebounded and won the cup -- and as a thank you the players named Gaynor their honorary "Godmother." She claims the response to her is "deafening" when she visits France -- with millions of fans serenading her with "I Will Survive." The French soccer team has even sung back up for Gaynor on a special recording of the tune that's currently only available in France. But that doesn't mean Gloria is straying from her American roots. She's just about to release a new single titled "Just Keep Thinkin' About You" that she describes as a "simple love song."
