HOLY WARS TO TAKE PLACE ON INTERNET FAN SITES?

ALLIANCE, Ohio (Wireless Flash) -- The most religious place in your house may be your computer. That's according to Ohio-based religion professor Dr. Brenda Brasher, who says the internet has become the cutting edge of religion. Brasher says "modem missionaries" are changing religion by emphasizing humor as a path to enlightenment. Another trend is the proliferation of religious sites dedicated to celebrities like Elvis and Keanu Reeves. Although most of the "celebrity churches" are tongue-in- cheek, Brasher says the entertainment industry has such a firm stance against unauthorized fan sites that she predicts a possible hard drive holy war. Brasher is the author of the upcoming book, Give Me That Online Religion (Jossey-Bass).
