HOT ROD COUTURE: AIR-BAG WEDDING DRESSES & SEAT BELT SKIRTS

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- Clunky car parts will have a spot on the runways during New York City's upcoming Fashion Week. As part of a promotion for the Ford Motor Company, several fashion designers have created "hot rod couture" duds made out of junked parts from Ford Focuses. Some of the fast fashions include a sleeveless mini- dress made out of rear-view mirrors, body suits made from the interior leather and a wedding dress made from out of deployed white air bags. Friends costume designer Debra McGuire, one of the fashionistas participating in the event, says making bustiers and jewelry out of tire treads has inspired her to use the same materials in her own line of jewelry. The car couture fashion show will take place February 11.
