DOC AND ROLL MUSIC
SAN DIEGO (Wireless Flash) A lot of rock bands are accused of using drugs but one San Diego group is actually able to prescribe them. The band which calls itself Bone includes an orthopedic surgeon on lead guitar and an E.R. doctor on drums. Bone started playing Doc And Roll four years ago and writes original tunes based on the day-to-day problems of doctors including one ditty titled Gold Digger, which tells about ladies looking to marry rich doctors. Lead singer Trent Northcutt who sells medical supplies admits the band members day jobs prevent them from suffering the financial burdens other unknown bands face but the group suffers for its art in other ways. He says practices and gigs are often interrupted because the musicians are needed in surgery.
