SHEB WOOLEY TURNS 80 TODAY (APR. 10)

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (Wireless Flash) – The man who wrote the 1958 smash hit “Purple People Eater” turns 80 today and he’s still feeling in the pink. Actor and singer Sheb Wooley says he still earns plenty of green from “Purple People Eater” and claims these days he’s writing even better songs. One of the 80 year old’s latest ditties is something called “I Just Don’t Look Good When I’m Naked Anymore.” He says it could become a smash if only “...it just gets the exposure.” Wooley is also still performing regularly and credits his good health to 75 years of harmonica playing, which his doctor says helps his deep breathing.
