LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) – Are you at the end of your leash trying to train your dog? You might want to consider training yourself instead. That’s the approach taken by celebrity dog expert Inger Martens. Martens – whose clients include Kevin Costner, Jim Carrey and LeAnn Rimes – claims human behaviors create misbehavior in dogs. For example, she says dog owners should never repeatedly call their dog’s name to get his attention – it just makes the name become meaningless to the pooch. Instead, Martens recommends you change your own behavior and play hide-and- seek with rover, where you hide and he seeks. She says this method guarantees your dog will return to you whenever you call him in public, because he’ll think you are playing the game and come to find you.
