‘JOSIE AND PUSSYCATS’ GOES FROM THEATERS TO COURTROOM

SCARSDALE, N.Y. (Wireless Flash) – Josie And The Pussycats is going from the movie theater to the courtroom. Josie’s creator, comic artist Dan DeCarlo, is suing Archie Comics and Universal Pictures, claiming he wasn’t given credit for the character and he hasn’t received any royalties from the new film. Although the 81-year-old artist’s suit was dismissed by a lower court several months ago, a three judge panel will hear his appeal May 4 and he’s confident he’ll get his day in court. In the meantime, DeCarlo says he hasn’t seen the Josie movie yet but only because friends who’ve seen it had “no kind words” for the film.
