YOU’LL BE PAYING TAXES UNTIL MAY 3

WASHINGTON (Wireless Flash) – You might be ready to spend your tax refund but May 3 is the real day to celebrate. It’s National Tax Freedom Day. That’s the day when Americans will have worked enough days to pay for all non-voluntary government taxes for one year and can start spending money on themselves. According to calculations by the Tax Foundation in Washington D.C., Americans need to work 123 days to earn enough money for taxes this year. But don’t start celebrating just yet. Spokesman Bill Ahern says this year’s Tax Freedom Day comes 13 days later than it did a decade ago, which he credits to a boom economy and higher federal taxes. Although the number of working days required for tax freedom might decline, Ahern estimates that even with a Bush tax cut, Tax Freedom day will be held on May 5 ten years from now.
