SHAQUILLE O’NEAL: ‘I CREATED THE TACO BELL CHIHUAHUA’

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) – Shaquille O’Neal has a bone to pick with the Taco Bell Chihuahua. In his brand new book, Shaq Talks Back (St. Martin’s Press), the basketball star and former Taco Bell pitchman claims he actually created the fast food chain’s “spokesdog” but he never received credit. O’Neal claims Taco Bell executives were trying to figure out a new ad campaign when he suggested, “Everybody knows the Mexican dog is a chihuahua. Do something with that.” Although the chihuahua ad campaign became a huge hit, it didn’t help Shaq score points with Taco Bell. He says they soon dumped him for a pooch who earns “maybe $100 an hour.” Shaq claims he’s serious about the dogfight between him and Taco Bell and he’s considering writing another book titled, How I Killed My Career At Taco Bell.
