IT’S ‘SELENA SEASON’ FOR IMPRESSIONISTS

LAS VEGAS (Wireless Flash) – Today (Apr. 16) would have been Tejano singer Selena’s 30th birthday. Although the songstress has been dead six years, there are still plenty of celebrity impressionists keeping her memory alive – and Selena’s birthday marks the unofficial start of their high season. Las Vegas-based Selena impersonator Jennifer Joseph says the “Selena Season” peaks on Cinco de Mayo and lasts all the way through Mexican Independence Day in September. She claims calls have been coming in left and right lately, and she’s already had 10 requests for summer shows up and down the U.S.-Mexico border. However, Joseph says demand for Selena dries up completely in the off- season – which is one of the reasons she’s now developing a Jennifer Lopez act.
