PODIATRIST GETS TOEHOLD IN CANDY BIZ

BERKELEY, Calif. (Wireless Flash) – A podiatrist from Berkeley, California, is trying to get a toehold in another industry – candy making. It seems when Dr. Mark Wolpa isn’t checking patients for ingrown toenails, he’s making foot-shaped candy that he sells under the name “Toe Food.” Wolpa first made the sweets as a way to get doctors to refer patients to him – but some thought it was such a kick that they ordered more of the “footsie rolls,” which come in flavors like chocolate, cinnamon “hot foot” and “stinky sour apple.” Although Wolpa is hoping to step up as a successful candy maker, there are some foot-shaped sweets he has no interest in – including one suggestion he actually received for chocolate-flavored ingrown toenails.
