INTERNET MOVIE BECOMES CULT CRAZE

KINGSTON, Mass. (Wireless Flash) – Remember hamsterdance.com, that irritating website that featured yodeling and dancing hamsters? Well, a 14-year-old Massachusetts boy has created something just as crazy: “Hyakugojyuuichi,” an internet-based animated video that’s becoming a cult craze with college kids. Teenager Neil Cicierega’s video shows bouncing animated heads of Pee Wee Herman, Harry Potter and Mr. Bean lip-synching to a high-pitched Japanese Pokemon song titled “Hyakugojyuuichi,” which translates into “151” in English. The video also includes Neil’s interpretation of the Japanese lyrics: It’s Princess Leia/ The Yodel of Life/ Give me my sweater back/ Or I’ll play the guitar. He says he created the odd animation because the world needs more art that’s almost completely devoid of any purpose or logic.
