COMICS HOPE TO CLEAN UP BY TOURING LAUNDROMATS

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) – “Clean humor” is getting a new meaning from a group of Los Angeles comedians, who plan to perform in laundromats. Starting tonight (Apr. 25), the comedians will travel to various laundromats in southern California as part of their “All Washed Up” tour. It’s a dirty job but comic Christy Murphy says she likes working laundromats because it allows her to try out new material without worrying about bombing in front of a TV executive. However, because laundromats attract all-age crowds, Murphy says all the washing machine wits will “clean up” their material. Most customers enjoy the laundromat laughs but one customer hated the jokes so much, he threw his toothbrush at one comic. In addition, she says some comics have tried to tell jokes and do laundry at the same time and wound up ruining a few loads.
