SAN DIEGO MAN HOPES TO STREET SAIL ACROSS U.S.

SAN DIEGO (Wireless Flash) – A San Diego man hopes to roll into the Guinness Book of Records as the first person to “street sail” across America. 40-year-old Bob Torline will start his trek on Sunday when he leaves Brownsville, Texas, on a skateboard with a sail attached. He hopes to wind up in Maida, North Dakota, sometime in June. Torline admits he’s worried about running into tornadoes – but he’s more afraid of being chased by farm dogs. He also hopes to minimize any road rash with a unique braking system: A tennis ball glued to a piece of wood. He hopes his stunt will convince others to take up street sailing, which he claims is better than windsurfing because, “You don’t get wet and cold.”
