AIRPORT DELAYS ARE DELIGHTFUL

SEATTLE (Wireless Flash) – The airport industry’s delay records are at an all-time high, but one Seattle woman thinks that’s a good thing. Harriet Baskas, author of the new book Stuck at the Airport (Fireside), says she enjoys delays at airports so she can check out the restaurants and shopping. Baskas got the idea to write the guide book after she was stranded for eight hours at a Kentucky airport and stumbled upon a great snack bar. Her goal now is to find something redeeming about every airport so other people will have something to do when they get stranded. Baskas is especially high on San Francisco’s airport, which she says has an excellent sushi bar, and if you have some time to kill at the Las Vegas airport, she recommends taking a gamble on the Howard Hughes and Amelia Earhart flight exhibit there.
