SEA URCHINS A FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH?

SEA URCHINS A FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH?

FORT BRAGG, Calif. (Wireless Flash) – 42-year-old Rickey Henderson is the oldest player in major league baseball but his current success may be pricking interest in sea urchins. The Padres left-fielder is currently batting .291 and claims eating raw sea urchins two or three times a week keeps him young. A professional sea urchin diver named Jon Holcomb agrees with Henderson, and claims the critters are a bigger pick-me-up than coffee. Some people say urchin meat looks like baby barf, but Holcomb says the taste and texture is similar to “sweet almond Jello.” Although Holcomb doesn’t know if Henderson’s success on the ball field will start a sea urchin fad, he wouldn’t be surprised. He knows one 80-year-old man who swears they’re better than Viagra.
