HOLLYWOOD’S STRANGEST URBAN LEGENDS

HOLLYWOOD’S STRANGEST URBAN LEGENDS

CHICAGO (Wireless Flash) – Have you heard the rumors that when the sitcom Joanie Loves Chachi premiered in Korea, it got the highest ratings in Korean TV history because “Chaji” is the Korean term for the male sex organ? Well, it’s false according to urban legend expert Richard Roeper, author of Hollywood Urban Legends (New Page Books). Roeper – who co-hosts Ebert And Roeper At The Movies – says the show never aired on Korean TV. That’s not the only common show business urban legend. Roeper says there’s no proof that Gilligan’s real first name is “Willy” and contrary to rumor, Bill Cosby never bought up all the Little Rascals films with plans to destroy them. Finally, Roeper says Monica Lewinsky never told Larry King, “I’ve learned not to put things in my mouth that are bad for me.”
