AMERICAN CUSTOM OF TIPPING SPREADING WORLDWIDE

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) – The American custom of tipping is becoming contagious in other countries. According to Travel Holiday magazine, tipping in hotels and restaurants used to be unheard of in many countries, but is now becoming commonplace. The American custom has even spread to Tahiti and Fiji where signs in hotels that read “No Tipping” have been replaced with boxes where guests can drop in gratuities. Hotels in Sydney and Melbourne, Australia are also jumping on to the tipping bandwagon. Cheapskate travelers aren’t entirely out of luck, though. It’s still a no-no to tip in Iceland and tipping at Singapore’s Changi International Airport is actually against the law.
