DOLLY PARTON WRITES BEST SONGS WITH ACRYLIC NAILS

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Wireless Flash) – If you want to nail down hit songs like Dolly Parton does, start wearing acrylic nails. Dolly, who will be inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame on June 14, says some of her most famous songs have been written while she was strumming her guitar with her phony fingernails. It’s not easy playing with fake nails but she says they’ve helped inspire new rhythms for tunes such as “9 To 5” – which Dolly claims couldn’t have been nailed down without the acrylics. Not every song Dolly has written is affected by fingernails – some are inspired by fried clams. She says her 1978 hit, “Two Doors Down,” was inspired by the time she had to stick to a liquid diet while everyone around her was eating fried clams.
