‘ITCH-ZAPPER’ BUGS BUG BITES

CARLSBAD, Calif. (Wireless Flash) – First, there were “bug zappers” to kill bugs – now there’s a zapper to kill the sting of a bug bite. The so-called “ItchZapper” is a high-tech gizmo that reportedly eliminates itching caused by mosquito bites, flea bites or gnat bites. The battery-operated gadget resembles a computer mouse and stops itching by “zapping” the bite with 122 degrees of heat – which supposedly breaks down itch-causing proteins under the skin. A spokesman admits the initial zap of heat can burn a little, but says the swelling and itching subsides soon afterward. The $29.95 ItchZapper will be available for sale in two weeks at Itchzapper.com.
