CHEF FINDS SPACE VEGGIES HARD TO SWALLOW
PALO ALTO, Calif. (Wireless Flash) News that Chinese scientists are sending vegetable and fruit seeds into space has some chefs steamed. The British press is reporting scientists at Chinas Greenhome Farm have been blasting seeds from peppers, cantaloupes and tomatoes into orbit and growing them in space. Once retrieved, the fruits and vegetables are reportedly gigantic and contain more vitamins than normal produce. However, some cooking experts arent exactly excited to cook cosmic cabbages and galactic greens. Palo Alto-based organic chef J.Z. Cool says bigger produce isnt always better and claims smaller vegetables often have more flavor than their bigger brothers and sisters. She says until research confirms theres nothing wrong with space seeds, any produce grown there should be labeled before being rocketed to market.
