MUSICIAN INVITES LARRY KING TO ATTEND RAVE
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (Wireless Flash) – An Arizona electronica musician says he’s raving mad about how the media depicts ravers – and now he hopes to do something about it. Brandon Rector – a member of a group known as “Illegal Substance” – says he hopes to change the image of raves by getting journalists such as Larry King and Dan Rather to “go undercover” with him at raves this summer. Rector says there’s a false impression that raves are wild orgies fueled by the drug ecstasy. In reality, he says most ravers don’t use drugs at all and sex isn’t common. Still, if King or Rather feels tripping on party drugs will help them better understand rave culture, Rector says he’s willing to help them score.
