ACID REFLUX AFFECTS ‘RAYMOND’ MOM
LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) – Everybody Loves Raymond actress Doris Roberts has a shocking secret: She almost died while eating sushi. Roberts – who plays Ray Romano’s mom on the CBS sitcom – says her fishy experience happened last season after she ate some sushi and immediately suffered heartburn. She started choking and claims she would have died if a stagehand hadn’t handed her some warm water, which opened her throat. Roberts says she later learned she suffers from “gastro esophageal reflux disease” which affects 21 million Americans. She hopes to do for heartburn what June Allyson did for adult diapers by speaking out about the disorder at a press conference today in Philadelphia.
