SAN FRANCISCO (Wireless Flash) – Whoever said sex doesn’t belong in the classroom never met porn star Annie Sprinkle. The 47-year-old has just become the first X-rated actress to receive a “Doctorate of Sexology” from the San Francisco-based Institute for the Advanced Study of Human Sexuality. Dr. Sprinkle says her “hands-on experience” with human sexuality helped her make the grade, but admits she was surprised to learn that some of her instructors “are pretty wild.” She says studying sex didn’t necessarily improve her own sex life. In fact, it did the opposite and forced her to spend so much time reading books that she gained weight. Dr. Sprinkle plans to use her new degree to study the effects of psychedelic drugs on sex and to investigate the finer points of erotic massage. She’s also the author of a new book, Hard Core From The Heart (Continuum Books)
