RESEARCH SHOWS FARMERS REFUSE TO RETIRE
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Wireless Flash) Farmers will plow their fields until they are plowed under themselves. Thats according to researchers at Purdue University who have discovered that retirement isnt in the vocabulary of most American farmers. An associate professor of consumer and family sciences says farmers cant imagine themselves doing anything else but working and view retirement as sitting in a rocking chair. Professor Sharon DeVaney says the research shows that farmers may consider slowing down a bit to 45 hours a week. However, Old McDonalds wife tells a different story and says shed like to travel or do more things.
