BACKSTREET BOYS’ FANS MAY SUFFER DEPRESSION AS WELL

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) – Backstreet Boy A.J. McLean may not be the only one suffering from depression – the band’s fans may too. According to San Francisco-based psychologist, Dr. Brenda Wade, the recently-canceled concerts could leave female fans down in the dumps fighting their own depression. Wade says if the teen girls have a tendency for depression – and she says most do – then the letdown of the canceled concert could create a negative outlook on life that spirals into depression. Even worse: Wade says because McLean is a role model, fans may emulate his depression just so they can copy his behavior. Dr. Wade claims the girls can talk themselves out of the “Backstreet Blues” by reciting positive affirmations such as: “I have a bright and happy future, and life is wonderful today.”
