SCIENTIST DEVELOPING CAVITY-FIGHTING APPLES

KENT, England (Wireless Flash) – In the future, eating an apple a day could keep the dentist away. That’s because a British plant biotechnology expert is trying to develop a strain of apples that contain a cavity-fighting compound. David James of Horticulture Research International says it will take at least four years to develop the anti-cavity apples. He’s also doing some experiments to introduce the compound into strawberries, and says the technology could one day be used to develop diarrhea-fighting fruit for Third World countries.
