MAN PETITIONS AGAINST SUBWAY SANDWICH CUT

HALIFAX, Nova Scotia (Wireless Flash) – The Subway Sandwich chain has changed the way it slices its sandwiches – but it’s not cutting the mustard with a Canadian man. A 25-year-old software engineer named Steve Dinn is spearheading a campaign to get Subway to stop slicing its sandwiches like hot dog buns and to go back to its original V-shaped trench cut. Dinn claims the straight cut doesn’t hold nearly as much veggies or condiments and it causes the contents to spill out sloppily. So far he’s collected more than 1,600 signatures from disgruntled sandwich eaters who want the food chain to bring back the trench cut buns. A Subway spokesman says the new cut was adopted because it shaves off a few seconds in making the sandwich and the company has no plans to switch back to the original slicing method.
