A DOUBLE DOSE OF ‘DOLEMITE’

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (Wireless Flash) – Fans of the ’70s-era Dolemite film series could soon be getting a double dose of their superfly hero. Rapper LL Cool J is reportedly being considered as the lead for remake of the popular blaxploitation series. The original character was played by comedian Rudy Ray Moore, who plans to release his sequel, Dolemite 2002, sometime this year. Dolemite 2002 screenwriter Jerry Jones hasn’t heard much about the LL Cool J remake but says the plot sounds very similar to the movie he and Moore just completed. It’s about a nightclub owner who gets revenge on his enemies with the help of three “butt-kicking” ladies. Still, he’s okay with the new version as long as Moore plays a role in it.
