NEW HAMPSHIRE WOMAN IS CHRISTIAN ‘WEIRD AL’

NASHUA, N.H. (Wireless Flash) – A New Hampshire woman has become sort of a Christian version of Weird Al Yankovic. 50-something Nancy Mari has penned more than 40 weird Christian song parodies which spoof tunes like “Wild Thing” and “Zoot Suit Riot.” One of her hits is “Biblethumping,” a rewrite of the 1997 one-hit wonder “Tubthumping,” and she’s also completed a version of The Doors’ “Light My Fire” which goes, “...Holy Spirit bring your fire.” Mari says she wants to tackle all types of music, and has even put a Christian spin on the theme songs for The Addams Family and Fame. However, she claims rap is the hardest music to work on and her biggest challenge to date is Eminem’s “The Real Slim Shady.” Mari says she can only finish one verse because she doesn’t understand any of Eminem’s slang.
