NEW MAKE-UP STORE FEATURES SKIN-LIKE INTERIOR

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) – A new makeup store opening in Manhattan gives new meaning to the saying “beauty is only skin-deep.” The boutique for MAC brand cosmetics features a translucent, amber-colored floor that mimics human skin, chairs that feel like flesh and lamps that appear to breathe. Even the counter is made from a flesh-like material that grips the compacts and lipstick tubes in place. Just like skin, the material can be washed with soap and water – but unlike a human, it’s indestructible. A spokesman says the offbeat store design is meant to “...create a sensual experience and to trigger emotions,” from customers. The experimental boutique opens Wednesday (Aug. 1).
