SEATTLE RESTAURANT OFFERS ‘TAX REFUND MENU’

SEATTLE (Wireless Flash) – A hoity-toity Seattle restaurant has come up with a bizarre way to boost the economy – by raising its prices. The owners of the Palisade restaurant claim they can improve the U.S. economy by having customers spend their entire $300 tax refund checks at the eatery. For 300 bucks, tax-paying gourmets can treat themselves and three pals to “Mushroom Crusted Beef Tenderloin served with Red Jacket Mashed Potatoes,” “Crab-Stuffed Won Tons” and “Plank Roasted Salmon.” A spokeswoman says the megabucks meal will pump money back into circulation, boosting the economy slightly. Economist Robert Williams says it’s possible a gourmet meal could help folks feel “psychically better” about the economy and boost consumer confidence.
