81-YEAR-OLD SOFTBALL CHAMP PITCHING FOR NATIONAL TITLE

SAN DIEGO (Wireless Flash) – An 81-year-old softball pitcher is taking a swing at a national title – and he’ll be playing against players who are younger than his own grandkids. Danny Millsap – who has been playing softball since 1927 – just pitched a one-hitter that got his team a place in the national championships, which will start August 30 in Decatur, Illinois. Millsap usually plays against players fifty years younger but says he’s never been seriously injured because he works out three days a week. It must be working: Millsap’s fast ball is still around 70 mph and a few years ago, he pitched 101 innings in six hours.
