FUNERAL DIRECTORS LOVE ‘SIX FEET UNDER’

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Wireless Flash) – Funeral directors are flipping their lids over the HBO funeral home soap opera Six Feet Under. That’s according to a funeral director from Ft. Wayne, Indiana, who says almost everyone he knows in the funeral industry loves the show – except him. Mortician Mac McCormick thinks the show is crass and vulgar and says it does a terrific job of showing the wrong way to run a funeral home. McCormick feels the show’s characters don’t show enough respect for the dead and are insensitive to their customers’ needs. He says the funeral folks he knows are truly compassionate and take the utmost care in handling human remains – unlike the Six Feet Under crew. McCormick claims a more realistic depiction of the funeral home industry can be found in his new book, Days of Death – Nights of Service (Jarmac Publishing).
