COCKROACH DERBY TO DETERMINE NEW JERSEY ELECTION?

LIVINGSTON, N.J. (Wireless Flash) – Politics can be a rat race, but in Livingston, New Jersey, it’s a cockroach race. Tomorrow the town will host the 12th annual “New Jersey Cockroach Derby,” and organizers claim the race is 80 percent accurate in determining the outcome of political elections. They plan to put it to the test to predict the winner of New Jersey’s gubernatorial race by pitting a roach named “McGreevey” against one named “Shundler.” The bugs are named after New Jersey candidates Jim McGreevey and Bret Schundler. Last year’s cockroach race was held between presidential cockroaches “Gore” and “Bush” – and “Gore” won the race by just an antenna.
