EAT YOUR COLORS

EAT YOUR COLORS

CHICO, Calif. (Wireless Flash) – Mom always said, “eat your vegetables,” but she really should have said “eat your colors.” That’s according to nutritionist Marcia Zimmerman, who says everyone has a dominant color of food they should be eating. “Yellows” tend to be lean and large-jointed, “reds” are medium-built and athletic and “greens” have large frames and easily gain weight. She says “red” types should eat scarlet foods like berries, apples and red beans, “greens” do best on broccoli and salads, and “yellows” are most healthy when they eat foods like squash, carrots and cantaloupe. Zimmerman says folks who don’t eat their colors may develop health ailments like allergies, digestion problems and ulcers. She’s the author of the new book, Eat Your Colors (Owl Books).
