NEW INVENTION REMINDS SENIORS ITS MEDICATION TIME
ATLANTA (Wireless Flash) A new invention is helping remind senior citizens to take their medication. The device looks like a coffee maker only it dispenses pills with an attention-getting flashing light and a mechanical voice that says, Time to take your medication. If the patient doesnt respond to the voice after 40 minutes, the machine dials up a monitoring company which telephones the oldsters to remind them to take their meds. A spokesman for MED-Companion says the main problem seniors have with prescriptions isnt that they arent willing to take them, but they just dont remember to take them. The machine and monitoring service cost about $100 per month.
