ROUTE 66 GAS STATION UP FOR SALE

LAS VEGAS (Wireless Flash) – You really can get your kicks on Route 66 – at least if your idea of kicks is buying a gas station on the historic highway. The gas station near Hydro, Oklahoma, was built in 1927 and is on the auction block at eBaymotors.com to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Route 66. Current owner Cheryl Nowka says the station is valued at $30,000 and could be a profitable business if it were to be restored to its former glory. Although Nowka had hopes of making the gas station a permanent memorial to her mother, she says she’s selling it because her family has different opinions on what to do with it. The auction will also include other Route 66 memorabilia and continues until September 25.
