REPLACING ROAD RAGE WITH ‘ROAD LAUGHTER’

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Wireless Flash) – A psychologist from Columbus, Ohio, wants to replace road rage with “road laughter.” Dr. Steve Wilson has started up several “laughing clubs,” places where people can meet and go through therapeutic “laughing exercises” which are supposed to relieve stress. It’s a yoga-like trend which started in India and includes movements such as the “Lion Laughter,” where you stick out your tongue like a panting tiger and laugh. Wilson says the exercises tone your muscles, stimulate your cardiovascular system and make you feel more emotionally balanced – which he thinks can fight against road rage. You can see some laughing clubs in action in the documentary The Laughing Club of India, which airs August 28 on Cinemax.
