MANY MUSICIANS ARE FLYING BLIND

DALLAS (Wireless Flash) – A Dallas-based aviation lawyer says musicians may be at a higher risk of getting involved in plane crashes such as the one that killed R&B star Aaliyah. Attorney Kent Krause says the urgent travel schedules required of those in the music industry often force them to use planes or pilots that haven’t been checked out completely for safety. He says some pilots who cater to celebrities take risks they normally wouldn’t – such as flying overloaded planes – because they’re catering to VIPs who want things done a certain way. Krause says it’s important to thoroughly check out charter planes before flying and says Aaliyah’s family may have grounds to sue the Florida-based charter company. In his words, “A reasonable person checking their background wouldn’t have flown with these guys.”
