MAINE GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATE WANTS STATE TO SECEDE FROM UNION

PARSONSFIELD, Maine (Wireless Flash) – America may soon have only 47 states if a woman in Parsonsfield, Maine, has her way. Carolyn Chute is running for governor for Maine and, if elected, she wants Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont to secede from the Union. Chute also hopes to convince Nova Scotia and Newfoundland to break away from Canada and then all of them will start a new country called the New Atlantic Confederacy. The 54-year-old Chute claims the split up is necessary because the federal government is too big, too bureaucratic and too corrupt to effectively serve the citizens. She admits the northern confederacy idea is a hard sell, but she’s confident her ideas will catch on in Maine if she were to appear on the gubernatorial debates.
